Simanta Journal of Health Studies is an open-access journal committed to providing unrestricted access to high-quality research in the health sciences. To cover the costs associated with publishing and maintaining open access, the journal applies an Article Processing Charge (APC) for accepted manuscripts.

  1. What is APC?

The APC is a one-time fee that authors or their institutions pay upon acceptance of a manuscript for publication. This fee supports the editorial process, peer review management, technical production, online hosting, long-term archiving, and indexing services, ensuring the sustainability of the journal’s open-access policy.

  1. APC Amount

The APC for Simanta Journal of Health Studies is:

  • USD 100 per article

There are no additional charges for submission or for articles requiring color figures, extended data, or supplementary materials.

  1. Fee Waivers and Discounts

The journal is committed to inclusivity and supports authors from diverse economic backgrounds. Waivers or discounts on the APC may be available for:

  1. Authors from low-income or lower-middle-income countries, as defined by the World Bank.
  2. Researchers who lack institutional or funding support for publication fees.
  3. Early-career researchers on a case-by-case basis.

How to Apply for a Waiver:

Authors must request a waiver or discount during manuscript submission by providing a brief justification. Requests will be considered by the editorial team based on transparency and available resources.

  1. APC Payment Process
  • APC payment is requested only after the manuscript has been accepted for publication.
  • Authors will receive an invoice with payment instructions.
  • Payment can be made via bank transfer, credit card, or other specified methods.

  1. No Hidden Charges

There are no additional costs for:

  • Article submissions.
  • Figures, color images, or supplementary materials.
  • Revisions prior to acceptance.

  1. Funding and Institutional Support

Many funding agencies and institutions recognize APCs as a legitimate research expense. Authors are encouraged to check with their funding bodies or institutions regarding APC coverage.

  1. Refund Policy

The APC is non-refundable once an article has been published. In cases where articles are withdrawn before publication due to journal-related issues, a full refund may be considered.
